A long tradition of farming became the essence and engine of BioNature SAS, a company that started with a clear purpose, to elevate agricultural practices by dignifying farming, providing fair conditions for the employes, the community and the environment. Growing plants is one thing, producing organic certified and meeting international food safety standards is another story. The company started growing basil and after mastering the production achieving sold out production for a whole season, we started exploring other products with high potential, always thinking on diversifying from traditional products and generate formal and stable jobs for nearly 100 of employes who daily support our growing range of products including hibiscus flower and chilis.
The idea of growing basil In El Espinal, Tolima was not new; what was new was the Organic Certified Production, the “kids” as we were called started something that was seen with great potential but never done before, why would go for that when the market takes all the conventional you have? Being innovative and having a relentless need to be ahead in the game has become the stamp in everything we do; it is today the reason we are still strong, growing in scope, bringing new horizons and developing an ecosystem where the entire community in which our business runs recognize the difference we brought to their lives before they partnered with us.
The “kids” are getting old, wise and are making the difference. We are partnering with public institutions like Agrosavia who invest in diversifying the agricultural offer and improving agricultural practices for the country. Organic production is now part of the topics they push to the communities along with our support, research in fighting diseases in Basil production is ongoing, chili and hibiscus were introduce into their scope thanks to our vision and are becoming a game changer for them in the journey to substitute traditional products into value added products with high demand in overseas, this is and will change the living conditions of many families in the years to come, that’s the difference we want to make.
